Filet Mignon

Filet Mignon is tender, flavorful and basically fancy. If you have any loved ones you want to treat to a feast this holiday season, try this steak that you can cut with a fork. (And it is ready in less than 20 minutes.) Filet Mignon Start with beef tenderloin filet steaks (6-8 ounces each.) Pat steaks dry with towel. Then drizzle extra virgin olive oil over each steak and season with plenty of salt and pepper. Repeat on both sides. Heat extra virgin olive oil on the stove in an oven proof pan (cast iron pan works great.) When oil is shimmery/sizzeling, add each seasoned steak. Sear each side for 1 minute. Transfer pan to preheated oven (425 degrees) and cook for 7 minutes or until desired doneness. Goes great with arugula salad, and whipped sweet potatoes (recipe coming soon.)
