My friend (Zog) makes the world's-best cookies. I don't even like sugar cookies that much, but I ate these as my dinner the other day. Hey, it's the holiday's. It's a magical time of year where you can eat nothing but cookies for dinner.
Enjoy!
Zog's Thumbprint Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
2 tsps baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1. Cream butter and sugar together in a bowl.
2. Add egg and vanilla and mix.
3. Mix together dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
4. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, one cup at a time.
5. Roll into preferred size (smaller cookies are like little joy bites) and set on ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb down into center of dough to make a dent for the icing.
6. Bake on 400 for 10 minutes or JUST before golden brown. This will ensure ultimate softness.
7. Cool completely before icing with yummy-ness.
Cream Cheese Frosting
1 block cream cheese
1 stick butter
powdered sugar (add to desired thickness. at least half of a bag.)
yummy :)
